DOODLE

Yes D for Doodle. First I came across the word Doodle from the Google logo. I was very much fascinated by the way Google changed their logo from time to time.

CODING

Mark Zuckerberg, Co-founder of Facebook once said "In fifteen years we'll be teaching programming just like reading and writing ...and wondering why we didn't do it sooner."

Yes it's so very true, the next big revolution for the coming Generation is going to be CODING.

But why Coding?
Coding is the A,B,C of the much used Internet and to lot other things that we involve ourselves in the daily life. From our phones, to apps we use, to even now the blog we read...it all needs code to run. So it's so very important to teach our kids "How to Code".

Wondering how can that be possible to teach a 6 year or even a 10 year old to code, when most of us ourselves are illiterate in writing codes.
But yes, it is possible through Code.org.

Code.org is dedicated to the vision that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn to code.
They have a great curriculum for kids to learn all about coding in a fun way. They have got workshops, step by step courses which has a fun way of teaching about CODE.

The image below is a beginner course. It might just look like a normal game, but when the kids play it they learn so much beyond the game.

Below is a video where Mark (Facebook co-founder) teaches the concept of "Loops" to the kids in the course. This makes Coding really interesting to watch with no more complex teaching.

Happy Coding,

B for BOOKS

Books Books Books . . . I have always enjoyed reading books. And that's one of the reasons which got me into blogging as well. When I read books, I get connected to it and completely get into a whole new world.

When I was in school, I used to enjoy reading TinTin, Nancy Drew, Amar Chithra Katha and lot of comics. And as I grew my interest changed to specific authors like Jane Austen, Jeffery Archer and Sherlock Holmes.
So I feel that the liking towards the writing changes but always the love of reading books remains the same.

It's important to cultivate reading habits in our kids as well. I am happy that my daughter Ri enjoys reading like me. And yes we are surely in a lucky era where we have got so many publishers and writers that you just have to go and pick up the book you want.

Doodle for B - BOOKS :
Here I have drawn me along with a pool of books in the shelf. I guess the 'me' in the picture will take her own sweet time to go through all the books. So let's leave the 'me' in the picture with her book time and let us all keep blogging.

Happy blogging,
